Monitoring the broadcasters' violations of programme standards, the National Broadcasting Council of Poland (NBC) voiced its criticism concerning the "Big Brother" show and other shows following a similar format, arguing that they may be socially harmful. On 19 June 2001 the National Broadcasting Council issued a decision to withdraw its licence no. 197/96-T granted to Polska Korporacja Telewizyjna (PKT) for terrestrial transmission.
