On 22 June 2006 the Seimas , the Parliament of the Republic of Lithuania, adopted a new Law on Pharmacy, the aim of which was to regularise the pharmaceutical practice in Lithuania. On 26 April 2006, the Radio and Television Commission of Lithuania (RTCL) decided to give authorisation to the Lithuanian Public Service Broadcaster to transmit its programmes via satellite. In March 2005, a self-regulatory institution, named Lietuvos Reklamos biuras (Lithuanian Advertising Bureau) was founded in Lithuania on the initiative of advertising agencies, media and advertisers. It started its activities in April 2006.
