In June 2003, the House of Representatives approved the Cyprus Press Agency Amendment Law of 2003 regulating state aid received annually by the national news agency, the Cyprus Press Agency (CPA - KYPE). In June 2003, the House of Representatives approved Regulations issued under Section 12 of the Law 238 (I) of 2002 on Film Classification. The main feature of the new Regulations is the introduction of a new classification system, consisting of five categories, based on criteria of language, sex and violence.
