Representatives of the Governments of the Swiss Confederation and the French Republic signed a new agreement on film co-production on 7 December 2004. The agreement replaces the one that was adopted in 1977 and revised in 1986. France is Switzerland's main partner in film production. On 6 March 1968, a Co-Production Agreement was signed between France and Czechoslovakia. It entered into force on 17 September 1968. After the dissolution of the ČSSR, the Agreement is upheld between France the Slovak Republic as the Successor State. On 27 October 1975, France and Yugoslavia signed a Co-Production Agreement, which entered into force on 21 September 1977, replacing the precedent Agreement of 7 July 1954. After the dissolution of Yugoslavia, the Former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia, as a successor state, has agreed with France to keep on applying the agreement and to maintain it in force.
