On 25 March 1988, a Co-Production Agreement was signed between France and Spain. It entered into force on 20 March 1989. The Agreement applies to cinematographic works of any length and genre (feature, animation, documentary, etc.). On 11 February 2000 a Co-Production Agreement has been signed between Germany and Spain. It entered into force on 13 December 2000, replacing the preceding agreement of 3 May 1956. The Royal Decree 1652/2004 of 9 July sets out a Regulation that provides for the mandatory investment by television programmers in the pre-financing of European and Spanish cinematographic and television films.
