On 22 December 2005, the Lithuanian Parliament adopted a new edition of the Act on the Lithuanian National Radio and Television (LRT). On 26 October 2005, the Radio and Television Commission of Lithuania announced a tender for awarding a licence to broadcast and re-broadcast television programmes over the digital terrestrial television networks. IRIS 2005-1:1/38 [LT] Model for Introduction of Digital TV

At the end of 2004, the Lithuanian Government adopted the "model for the introduction of digital television", which had been prepared by the Lithuanian Radio and Television Commission, the Communications Regulatory Body and the Ministries for Culture and Communication.
