On 18 June, the Parliament of the Republic of Estonia approved the amendment to the Broadcasting Law, which entered into force on 1 July 2008. One of the most important provisions of the amendment is the establishment of 1 June 2010 as the date when the analogue television network will shut down. The other important points are linked to the broadcast licenses of private channels. IRIS 2008-2:1/34 European Commission: Film Support in Estonia Approved | |
With its decision of 13 February 2008, the European Commission approved the state programme for the promotion of audiovisual culture (for example, film productions in Estonian and the dissemination of Estonian films outside Estonia). The legal bases for the provision of national film support are, inter alia, the Draft Regulations for Allocation of Support from the Estonian Film Foundation and the Cultural Endowment of Estonia Act.
