On 28 August 2013, the government of the Czech Republic approved the new Statute of the Státního fondu kinematografie (SFK - State Cinematography Fund). The SFK was created on 1 January 2013 pursuant to the Act No. 496/2012 Coll. on audiovisual works and promoting cinema and amending certain laws (see IRIS 2013-2/15). The SFK is the successor of the State Fund for the Support and Development of Czech Cinematography, which was technically, procedurally and legally obsolete.
