Following the tragic scale of this year's floods in Romania's Danube region and the large number of families affected, the Consiliul Naţional al Audiovizualului (regulatory body for electronic media in Romania - CNA) granted special permission to broadcasters in a communiqué dated 18 April 2006: if they were willing to organise relief action to help those affected, they would be allowed, in reports on such action, to name those who were making donations, including the names of any goods that were offered as aid. |

Five advertising spots in which private banks advertised bank loans and lease finance were banned by the Consiliul Naţional al Audiovizualului (Romanian regulatory body for the electronic media - CNA) at the beginning of April 2006. The CNA took this step on the grounds that the actual annual interest and the total cost for the consumer were not expressly indicated in the spots. At the beginning of March 2005, the Consiliul Naţional al Audiovizualului (the Romanian regulatory body for electronic media - CNA ) adopted a new, partly amended code ( Codul de reglementare al Consiliului Naţional al Audiovizualului ) summarising all the important legal provisions on audiovisual content. At the end of 2005, the Consiliul General al Municipiului Bucureşti (Bucharest City Council) introduced a new municipal tax for professional filming and photography in public areas (Taxa pentru utilizarea locurilor publice pentru filmare şi fotografiere profesionistă) .
