At the end of May the Consiliul Naţional al Audiovizualului (Romanian National Audiovisual Council - CNA) granted Dogan Media International an audiovisual licence to transmit Channel D television by satellite. The Consiliul Naţional al Audiovizualului (Romanian National Audiovisual Council - CNA)has stipulated in a recommendation to all Romanian broadcasters that “separate levying of import duties should be subject to a conformity criterion that will in future allow the acceptance of television advertisements using a type size different from that of accompanying text information”. The CNA thus accepts that until 1 January 2007, in television advertising for cars “price information that includes all duties and taxes will appear in type half the size of that used for price information omitting these details”.... |

The Consiliul Naţional al Audiovizualului (regulatory body for electronic media in Romania - CNA) has ruled that, during the TV broadcast of the football match between Bucharest's top division teams Steaua und Dinamo on 9 April this year, banners advertising alcoholic beverages had been displayed at Dinamo's stadium, infringing the Legea privind publicitatea (Advertising Act no. 148/2000), amended by the Ordonanţa de guvern (Government Order) no. 90/2004. Following the tragic scale of this year's floods in Romania's Danube region and the large number of families affected, the Consiliul Naţional al Audiovizualului (regulatory body for electronic media in Romania - CNA) granted special permission to broadcasters in a communiqué dated 18 April 2006: if they were willing to organise relief action to help those affected, they would be allowed, in reports on such action, to name those who were making donations, including the names of any goods that were offered as aid. |

At the end of March 2006, the Consiliul Naţional al Audiovizualului (Romanian regulatory body for electronic media - CNA)and the Asociaţia Română de Comunicaţii Audiovizuale (Romanian audiovisual communications association - ARCA) signed a protocol designed to ensure closer compliance with Council of Europe Recommendation (2000) 23 (see IRIS 2001-1:2).
