On 12 February 2014 the Romanian Government adopted Decision no. 86/2014 regarding the granting of licenses to use radio frequencies in the terrestrial digital TV system. On 4 February 2014, the Consiliul Naţional al Audiovizualului (National Audiovisual Council - CNA) issued the list of TV stations included in the „must-carry” principle for 2014. On 30 January 2014, the Consiliul Naţional al Audiovizualului (National Audiovisual Council - CNA) decided not to renew the audiovisual licence of the commercial TV station Taraf TV, a music channel specialising in broadcasting party music and manele, an originally Turkish-derived music genre.
