The Broadcasting Authority is proposing amendments to the Broadcasting (Jurisdiction and European Co-operation) Regulations, 2000. Article 22a of the Television Without Frontiers Directive requires EU Member States to ensure that broadcasts do not contain any incitement to hatred on the grounds of race, sex, religion or nationality.
