On 25 February 2005, Freiwillige Selbstkontrolle Fernsehen (a voluntary self-monitoring body for TV companies - FSF) adopted the final part of the guidelines it has issued on the application of its monitoring system. On 1 February 2005 the Irish Film Censor's Office (IFCO) published a report on adolescent film usage and attitudes. This is the second phase of a research project commissioned by IFCO. The results of the first phase on Parental Usage and Attitudes to Film Classification was published in September 2004 (See IRIS 2004-9: 13).The report details the findings of a survey conduced among 1,045 adolescents (aged 12-17 years), as well as small-group interviews with twenty-four adolescents. A "yes" vote by the State Parliament of Baden-Württemberg on 16 March 2005 signals completion of the process of ratification of the Eighth Agreement Amending the Interstate Broadcasting Agreement (8 RfÄStV) by the German Bundesländer. The amendments affect the Interstate Agreements on Broadcasting; Television and Radio Licence Fees; Funding; the ARD; the ZDF; Deutschlandradio; Media Services; and the Protection of Young Persons in the Media. IRIS 2005-3:1/21 [GB] Adjudication in the Case of Playboy TV UK/Benelux Limited

On 10 February 2005 the UK media regulator OFCOM - in particular, the Content Sanctions Committee -made an adjudication in the case ofPlayboy TV UK/Benelux Limited. The Committee found the channel to be in serious breach of the Programme Code, Articles 1.1 and 1.4(d). Article 1.1 concerns general requirements relating to “Family Viewing Policy, Offence to Good Taste and Decency, Portrayal of Violence and Respect for Human Dignity”.
