The December 2021 amendment of the Law on Radio and Television Organisations 7(I)/1998 transposed the Audio Visual Media Services Directive 2018/1808/EU into national law of the Republic of Cyprus (RoC). Following the publication on 10 November of its Designation Decision Framework for video-sharing platform (VSP) services, the Irish media regulator Coimisiún na Meán (the Media Commission) issued a series of notices of designation to services established in Ireland that it estimates fall under the designation of VSP. On 5 December 2023, the Italian Communications Authority (AGCOM), adopted three significant measures against major video-sharing platforms for violating the Italian prohibition on advertising games with cash prizes.
