The Danish Parliament has adopted a new Copyright Act which entered into force on 1 July 1995. The Act contains a systematically modernized copyright legislation and replaces two Acts from 1961 on copyright and on the right in photographic pictures. The 1961 legislation and several later amendments have to a large extent been carried into effect on a basis of agreement between the five Nordic countries. IRIS 1995-2:1/29 [DK] Agreement on the Strengthening of Danish Public Service Television

On 20 January 1995 the Danish government and the Socialist People's Party came to an agreement on the strengthening of Danish public service television as a result of the increasing competition from foreign television stations. On the basis of the agreement, Danmarks Radio will be authorized to experiment with a satellite channel using new digital technology.
