IRIS 1995-10:1/12 [CZ] New Law on Advertising in the Media

On 9 February 1995, the Parliament of the Czech Republic passed a law governing advertising in the media. The law prohibits certain practices and lays down general restrictions, as well as regulations relating to supervision and penalties. Part of the law amends law No. 468 of 30 October 1991 covering audiovisual programmes. The Czech Government has submitted draft principles for a new press act to the relevant parliamentary committee. The new act is intended to replace the current Act No. 81/1966 on the periodical press and other mass media, as amended by Act No. 86/1990 of 28 March 1990.
