The last three years have brought several changes in the area of public media financing in the Slovak Republic. As of 2010 there are approximately 200 cinemas in Slovakia but only 11 have been digitised, mostly from private sources. Only 7 % of the cinemas are run by private companies, the rest is under the management of cities.
