IRIS 2010-9:1/33 [ME] New Laws on Electronic Communications and Media Adopted

The Montenegrin Parliament adopted the new Law on Electronic Media, along with the necessary changes to the accompanying Law on Electronic Communications, intended to stipulate the competences of the regulatory bodies in the area of electronic media. IRIS 2010-3:1/31 [ME] New TV Broadcasting Frequencies Allocated

The Council of the Agency for Electronic Communications and Postal Services decided to allocate all requested broadcasting frequencies to Vijesti television, after a two-year bureaucratic proceeding during which the TV station operated and broadcast its signal through cable operators. The Council of the Radio and Television of Montenegro and the councils of local PSB have adopted the Terms and Conditions for the Presentation of Candidates and their Programmes for the forthcoming extraordinary parliamentary elections, scheduled for 29 March 2009.
