In its session of 1 October 2008, the Parliamentary Commission on Civil Society and Media discussed the Draft Law on Amendment and Supplementation of the Law on Electronic Communications as submitted by the Council of Ministers on 12 August 2008.

The session was attended by representatives of the Communications Regulation Commission, the Council for Electronic Media, the State Commission on Information Technology and Communications, the Bulgarian Radio and Television Operators Association and the Electronic Communications Association.

After discussing all relevant issues, the Parliamentary Commission on Civil Society and Media made several recommendations and proposals for improving the current version of the Draft Law concerning the obligations of the multiplex operators and the control over the process of calculating prices for broadcasting programs.
