On 11 September 1971 a Co-Production Agreement was signed between France and Bulgaria. It entered into force on 5 November 1972.

The Agreement applies to cinematographic works made by one or more French producers in conjunction with one or more Bulgarian producers. Third country producers may join the co-production, if their country is linked to France or Bulgaria by a films co-production agreement.

Financial contribution shall be at least 30%.
