On 27 February, a bill on a new model for appointing members to the Danish Broadcasting Corporation, DR board of directors, was put forward in the Danish parliament. On 30 May 2024 the Danish Parliament passed a bill on Certain Media Service Providers’ Contribution to Promote Danish Culture (the Act), with entry into force on 1 July. Prior to this, the Act had been adjusted somewhat to comply with the European Commission’s comments from early May. The Danish Copyright Act has been amended several times over the past three years: In 2021, it was amended to implement the SatCabII Directive and Articles 15 and 17 of the DSM Directive on press publications and online content-sharing service providers, respectively.
